Josie and Sally, 37 and 35, respectively, grew up spending summers in an artist's world with two grandparents who were avid artists in Novato California. Exposed to such things as collage, sculpture, oil painting, miniatures, stained glass, mosaic and a manual printing press at an early age, it was no surprise that they eventually built a successful business together doing murals and European surface treatments, appearing as guests on such shows as 'The Christopher Lowell Show', QVC and 'Good Morning
 Boston' for various creative and entrepeneurial endeavors.
The sisters , believing that every adventure is more fun when they enter into it as a pair, soon found the art of digital scrapbooking. They began designing digital pape rs and elements for their own use and soon Iron Orchid Designs was born. The name perfectly embodies what they feel is the beautiful contrast of being a woman, the strength of wrought metal with the delicate and exotic beauty of the orchid. Consistent with their name, their work plays with contrast and incorporates a velvet refinery with an industrial edge that They like to refer to as vintage glam funk. Think velvet and silk, concrete and rebar, and throw in a Picasso for a good dose of funk.

Valerie Foster is a designer from the central coast of California and after several awkward attempts at writing a bio in the 3rd person, Valerie has decided to take the lazy route and go autobiographical. =D
I spent many years in web & graphic design (since 1996), working for design firms in California and Washington state. I eventually went freelance and never looked back. From the thrill of working with musicians and artists, to the doldrums of high end corporate identities, I’m so blessed to be involved with a myriad of styles and challenges that have shaped me into the versatile artist I've become.
These days, I'm the Creative Director for a UK based tech development company and product designer here at Prima. I'm the proud mommy of the successful Voila! range, as well as Pebbles and many of the new Prima Transparencies.
My husband and I travel a LOT for work, and we're currently living in a tiny mountain village just outside Brioude, France with our two smallish dogs.

I am so blessed to live in the beautiful country of New Zealand with my wonderful husband and two littlies. I started my employment history as a DBA to an NZ&Australian company, following that I worked as a web designer to an IT company. Long story short I decided to quit my work and started being a stay at home since our second child was born, without knowing that it actually led to having my dream come true.
I found digital scrapbooking 3 years ago, not long after the birth of my son, Tobey. Digital scrapbooking opened a whole new world for me, it opens doors to my creativity. To me, digital scrapbooking is a medium to express my love of photos, creativity and emotions. After a year of doing digital scrap booking, I started designing and had my own store. I love working with colours and textures, combined with my love of grunge, resulting in designs that I would call dreamy grunge. I also have several layouts published in scrapbooking magazines, as well as contributing tutorials and designs. Just recently, I tried my hand on hybrid scrapbooking, and I just loved it!! The combination is just perfect!! I feel so grateful to join PrimaHybrid to help grow this whole new idea.
Last but not least; life with 2 kids, a photography and design work sure get hectic most of the time. However I could say that this is the best time of my life and there is nowhere I would rather be.
